The purple was driven by exactly what you have described.
I like what you have seen in the painting and its very satisfying to hear how something from my imagination has sparked your imagination.
For me they are a group of beings (human, cyborg, robots?) searching the universe for life after the destruction of their civilization. They transport their minds via the machine, and the light is the expanding transformation of their reality as it changes for their altered states.
Anyway thanks for giving some great comment and feedback, Its great to hear what other artists think and how they perceive a scene.
